The residential urbanisation of Los Balcones is located 3 kilometres southwest of Torrevieja. The area overlooks the largest of Torrevieja's salt water lakes and is a popular tourist and residential community due to its proximity to the various beautiful beaches and golf courses of Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa ideal for those looking to enjoy the sea and the sun. It has a diverse and a very welcoming international community of which many buy and live here all year around!
One of the most interesting aspects of Los Balcones is its proximity to Torrevieja town, the Salt Lakes and Las Lagunas de La Mata Natural Park . Not only do these offer spectacular views , but also a unique microclimate that, according to studies, is beneficial for health , especially for people with respiratory or joint problems. Los Balcones also has several viewing points from which you can observe the changing landscapes and colours of the lake, a real attraction for residents.
The area of Los Balcones is known for large parks and natural green spaces with the main park located right next to the “Filton centre”, it is over 500 metres long and offers a large children's play area, a dog park, basketball courts, football pitch, table tennis tables, sheltered areas, lawns, benches and plenty of space to enjoy a relaxing stroll or work out.
As a residential urbanisation, Los Balcones offers a wide variety of restaurants serving traditional Spanish and international cuisine at the popular commercial centre, the “Filton Centre”, an open-air square which comes alive at night with many bars offering live music, there you will find a variety of shops, supermarkets and other amenities like opticians, dentists and hairdressers.
For those looking for a late night, Torrevieja is under a 15-minute car journey, here you have an abundance of bars, restaurants, marina and nightclubs that are open to the wee small hours of the morning!
Los Balcones is located right next to the Torrevieja University Hospital, within a minute's drive. Many permanent residents and those looking for holiday homes, see the proximity to the hospital contributes to its desirability.
