Description
The historical mountain village Guadalest, has an Eagle’s Nest carved into the top of a mountain, here you have a wonderful ocean view. The city is divided into areas, which both are listed as historical in Spain. Arrabla, the modern part is situated on one side of the mountain, there is a wide variety of art shops and one of the largest collections of "Lladro" in Spain is here.
On the mountain is the castle, the only entrance is through a tunnel in the mountain, on the other side there is 400m straight drop down to a lake which is the tap water for La Nucia and Alfaz. The castle is also protected by a wall from the mid-century. The city has a town hall and a school, and 200 inhabitants. Guadalest is the second most visited tourist attraction in Spain
